RSSThis One’s 4 Ruby trust site launched
A couple of weeks back, I was asked if I would be interested in donating some of my time to develop a WordPress theme for a trust called This One’s 4 Ruby, which was formed to support a 6-year old girl, Ruby Lambert. Ruby is in rehabilitation following a brain injury arising from her collapse from a previously undiagnosed heart disorder at school in April 2010. As I’m sure you can imagine that it wasn’t exactly a hard decision to make to agree to this and in the early hours of this morning, we launched the new This One’s 4 Ruby site, which we hope will raise awareness of the trust and draw in donations to help Ruby in her rehabilitation.

New Office in Beaconsfield
After several months of searching, we have finally signed a lease on a new office on the main street in Beaconsfield Old Town, here in Buckinghamshire. This is a very exciting move for us as our new office gives us the facilities to expand our business and provide a better service to all of our clients.
It has taken us a while to make this decision, but the office that we have finally settled on is in the perfect location for all of us and, I’m happy to say, there are loads of nice pubs within a very small walking distance. The building itself is Grade II listed and dates back to the middle of the 18th Century, although it has been modified into its current form in the early part of the 20th Century.
So as of Wednesday last week, our new address is:

You Write The Play site launched
This morning we launched a new viral microsite for the Daring Pairings 3 writing festival at the Hampstead Theatre in London. The site, www.youwritetheplay.com, is an attempt to break the world record for the highest number of authors for a single play.
The people at the Hampstead Theatre came up with the idea to create a play using content completely written by visitor submissions and then to perform it at the theatre during their writing festival. Every visitor to the site can see the last five submitted lines and then add their own line to the play.
Please visit the You Write The Play site and submit your line. There have been some hilarious lines submitted already and the final play is set to be fantastic, if not a little bizarre.

Carron Media website updates
First of all, many apologies for the lack of blog posts/tutorials recently. We’ve been rather busy in the last couple of months (which is by no means a bad thing!) on various client projects and we simply haven’t had the time to keep it up to date. We have some great articles planned for the near future so please keep checking back. If you have any suggestions or requests for an article, please get in touch and we will be more than happy to help out.
Ever since we launched Carron Media in March, there have been a few little bits of our site which we a) were not happy with or b) didn’t get around too in the first place. The main part of the site that required updating was the contact form. Although the WordPress plugin we used has been around for ages and is used by millions of bloggers, it didn’t give us the flexibility we were looking for. So now we have hand coded our own forms and along with a new standard contact form, we have launched a new online get a quote form.
The second element that was in need of an update was the footer of each page. We believe the new style footer not only looks better, but is easier to use and provides a lot more information and it gives us somewhere to include our latest updates on Twitter.

Welcome to the brand new Carron Media website and blog. Here you will find out all about us, what we do and the services we provide. Our blog will be regulary updated with industry news and useful tutorials covering a wide range of web design and development skills.
We will also post any new tips and tricks we pick up along the way that we think may help you with your projects. We here are Carron Media really appreciate the wealth of knowledge that is available on the Internet and we would like to be able to contribute to this is our own little way.
